Welcome to Scallop Shell Cottage - a perfect vacation cottage for a couple’s getaway, in Villas, NJ, whether that’s you and your partner, you and your best friend, or you and yourself!
Scallop Shell Cottage is a Millman House, a popular small beach house design in The Villas. We have renovated the house to provide it with modern amenities while preserving the simple charm of a 436-square foot beach house originally built in 1950.
We are especially proud to showcase local artists throughout Scallop Shell Cottage. Our crockery was custom-made for Scallop Shell Cottage by West Cape May born and raised artist Molly Bernstein. The walls feature original pieces and prints by David Macomber, Sean Taylor, Blue Bottle Art, and Sue Lotozo. Sue is also the owner of the iconic West Cape May apparel store, The Flying Fish Studio, that prints our reusable shopping bags and tea towels.
Due to the size of Scallop Shell Cottage and these special amenities, we do not recommend this cottage for young children, and we do require dog guests to be crated when left alone in the house.
Scallop Shell Cottage is one block from the Delaware Bay beach on a residential street. Perfect for an evening stroll to "The Home of the World's Best Sunsets." Close to casual restaurants, ice cream parlors, and a short drive to Cape May and Wildwood, world-famous birding, various water sports, wineries, breweries, distilleries, farms, and farm stands.

Bay beaches allow dogs before 11am and after 4pm during the summer. Dogs are allowed on the beach all day in the off-season.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date. No Refund if cancelled within 7 days of arrival.
Refundable Damage Deposit: $250
Some Rules: No smoking, or parties/events. Minimum age to rent is 25.

“This cottage is exactly what we were looking for. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and has THE BEST sunsets. My boyfriend and I got professional pictures done during our stay and it was so convenient to have them done there. All the Cape May fun was only a 15 minute drive. The cottage is small and cozy. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog that we brought along. Overall a great experience and we can picture ourselves coming back another time!”
